Getting
Started
1.
Education
You don't need to be a phD rocket scientist to take advantage of what photovoltaic
systems have to offer. However, since there is an investment involved and you
want to make an informed decision, a basic understanding of PV systems is probably
a good idea.
By browsing our web site, you're already off to an outstanding start!. If you
can't find your answer here feel free to contact
us. We're also available to speak with you personally or to respond to
your written questions. We will help you understand how photovoltaic power
works and whether it is the correct choice for you, complete customer satisfaction
is our goal.
2.
Needs analysis
Once you understand the basics of how a PV system works, we will work with
you to understand what you are trying to achieve by installing a PV system.
That way we can design the system to best serve your needs and meet your expectations.
This will include analyzing your current electric bill, determining whether
back-up power is desirable, assessing your property to determine where the
array should be installed and whether there are limitations due to the roof
line, orientation of property and shading. This analysis will form the basis
for the design of a system which will best fit your needs, budget and lifestyle.
3.
Design and engineering
The system design is done by professionals who are cognizant of the parameters
identified in the needs analysis, and who strive to optimize the system to
stay within those limits. This will result in a set of detailed specifications
relating to the number and type of PV panels, their location, orientation and
tilt, inverter selection, wiring and panel considerations plus battery type
(if appropriate). An on-site visit is necessary to gather information about
roof limitations (e.g., size, age and type of material, weight restrictions)
and property characteristics (orientation, shading, location and accessibility
of distribution panels)
4.
Financing
We will work with you to secure financing. This may be the most attractive
way to purchase a system, as often times your utility cost-savings and deductions
of loan interest will exceed your monthly loan payments. We will also work
with you to secure rebates from your utility company.
5. "Turnkey" Installation
We direct and participate in all phases of the project, including filing all
permits and interconnection agreements and participating in all inspections.
We use only licensed and insured professionals, and we take the time to
plan and execute the job so that there is minimal disruption and a clean-looking
job. When installing PV arrays on roofs, we take additional precautions
to ensure we create no leaks. Quality checklists are employed to ensure
all system components are appropriately installed
6.
Materials
We use only quality materials made by reputable manufacturers who stand behind
their products. This is evidenced by the extended warranties they offer (e.g.,
20 limited warranty on PV panels; 5 years on inverters)
7.
Follow-up service and support
We service what we sell. Though it is our intent that your system function
flawlessly for its intended life, we are available for consultation and service.
Since we live close-by and intend to ride the "solar wave" for a
long time, we understand that customer service will help distinguish us from
our competition and that we have to "earn our stripes" every day. |
