Factoids
How
much space do I need to install a turbine?
Basically the more power you need the more space you need.
The smallest wind turbines can be mounted directly on billboards
in remote areas to supply electricity to light a sign. Wind turbines
for home and office usually should be located at least 200 feet
from the nearest people. This is due to "whomp, whomp" noise
they may make. Larger turbines or fields of turbines, needed to
support large factories or towns, should be located at least 1000
feet from people. Some towns have codes that specify distances
required. However, due to the "newness" of people using
wind power most towns do not. Call GeoGenix and we will help determine
what space you need.
What
warranties are offered?
Different turbines have different warranties. The first step is to determine
what type of wind turbine you need. Reading the questions on this page will
help get you started. After we pick a turbine that fits your requirements we
can determine your warranty. As a general rule most of the turbines we sell
have warranties far less than their expected life span. So expect many years
of worry free service.
What
are the economics involved?
No quick answer here. Sometimes wind turbines can pay for themselves in under
a year. Sometimes it may take 15 years. Usually the payback is much less. In
order to evaluate the economics a lot of factors need to be considered. Please
contact GeoGenix for a free economic analysis. |
